New song you guys might enjoy.

Just a first draft export, but I've been working on this song for a long time (years and years in fact) and I'm excited to share it.

3 songs written in February - do they suck?

So I've been completely musically stagnant, pretty much since doing that Rush Is Loud cover last year. I heard about this thing called the RPM Challenge -- to record an entire album in one month (February). Well, it turns out that procrastination + stress at work + my own self-defeatism only allowed ...

Wow, that was delightful. I like your voice. Some elements of Stephen King in there ( notably the parenthetical italicized offhand bits of inner monologue ) but I do that too. Or, I did when I still wrote. All of my stories ended up like yours, though...I just never knew how to finish them. I think ...

Draven just wants to put together a demo CD to shop around; I'm sure if the project is greenlighted he'll ask for WAV files for the final CD press.

I'd love to hear your stuff then. Care to link?

I've never used Fruity Loops....does it offer anything that Reason doesn't?

My recording rig is Reason, ReWired into Cakewalk Sonar Producer Edition 4, POD XT Live for guitar input, Behringer mixer and an MXL condenser mic I got for like 200 bucks. I feel like I have everything I need to do any ...

I come from a tracking background; FastTrackerII when I was 15 years old. So I tend to think more in samples than synths....but the last couple of years with Reason have really opened my eyes to the magic of synthland. I can play with the Subtractor for hours and hours...I don't think you even need ...

Well, thanks again guys.

I'm thinking about doing a version of Weaken, my favorite GLU song besides Lonely Again...the problem with doing either one of those songs, of course, is that they're such great songs, I don't think it's possible to re-envision them without detracting from them....but if I ...

By the way do you make exceptions for bands that you've just heard for their singing, like oh he was having a hard life at that time, or his fiance just died--yeah it's sad, yeah I'm close to GLU and felt the pain of David Reilly dying, but I'm not one to make exceptions like that about MUSIC. Any ...

Yeah but I think you guys are all scared to criticise GLU. Here's me being bluntly honest: A lot of GLU's lyrics are what I would consider juvenile and I really don't like David Reilly's vocals on Fool or in the live Arizona videos. I think his solo stuff is really good, but again, the lyrics irk ...

OMG PR0N

Anyway...

The stereotypical 'porno' soundtrack is that 70's style 'wakka-chikka' wah-wah percussive guitar line, with disco / funk rhythms; sometimes even with vocals (always hilarious). I've heard many solos over such tracks.

But I think what I was more referring to was the Red Shoe ...
