David Reilly's singing

By the way do you make exceptions for bands that you've just heard for their singing, like oh he was having a hard life at that time, or his fiance just died--yeah it's sad, yeah I'm close to GLU and felt the pain of David Reilly dying, but I'm not one to make exceptions like that about MUSIC. Any other band where the singer hasn't just died I think you guys would be as free to be just as critical as I am. You guys are 'making excuses' for the parts of the music I said I dislike, you don't have to do that I just wanted to see if anyone saw it my way.

I am absolutely dumbfounded why you can't understand that YES, we are refraining from criticizing David out of respect for the recently deceased, and NO there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, you are crossing the line and being obnoxious. I don't know if it's a cry for attention or just general douchebaggery, but I can tell you that even if David were still alive, I would still defend him against you. I have no reason to believe that you have any qualifications to criticize his vocals OR lyrical composition. Can you write better? Can you sing better? Probably not. By a long shot, judging from your use of the English language.

Wait till there's at least some GRASS growing on Dave's grave before you start snooting around about this one show you saw a tape of in Arizona and how you don't like the way he sang on this one song he did this one time.

If you can't be respectful, you deserve no respect.

Every time I hear the girl who sings on Love Will Complicate it makes me cringe because it sounds so much like Madonna's Like A Prayer.

Just forget I ever said anything. I'm not gonna back down from my opinion just cause you guys are getting emotional about me criticizing GLU, I didn't ask for you guys to make excuses for things that aren't amazing about GLU, I was just wondering if you saw it in my perspective. You're taking it way too seriously. As for me "hating" David's lyrics and singing, I never said that, I said sometimes he sings out of tune and I don't like his vocals on some songs, and that the lyrics bother me occasionally. YEAH David Reilly died, I'm sad about it and I know you all are too, but no reason to get PERSONAL about a MUSICAL discussion, or bring in excuses against my claims that are really completely irrelevant to MUSIC analyzation. My timing was obviously wrong on this one. Forget it, forget it, forget it.
