Do you know?

Post by miss gordon »

Hey guys,

i'm still deeply saddened by david's death and don't get me wrong, but does anybody know why he got into drugs?

Was there are a particular reason for it?

I've got issues myself recovering from s.th else (let's just say it's not drugs/alcohol) and i don't really know how i got into this s++t.

Please don't get this the wrong way-i just would like to get some info on this to understand david better (possibly) and definetely not to disrespect him!

Umm..That's a tough one. Does anyone ever know? He had a pretty tough life, but drugs were in the picture before the things of the past 10 years. Exploration? Entertainment? I think he got in for the same reasons as anyone else. The painful part is that he stayed and got out too late.

I don't think there is any disrepect.

To answer your question. How do any of us get into things like that. What is the defining moment? More often and not there is no one thing, we slide into these things. Wanting to know how you got somewhere goes hand in hand with regret. We regret things and search for reasons to either understand or avoid.

I don't think anyone can truly know why David started on drugs. I am pretty sure he could not have told you himself.

The important thing is to move forward and work towards making things better. Don't try to gauge your current position against past positions. It is impossible because when we try to see the self the self intrudes and blocks the view.

yah, boy that was a struggle if anyone ever could have had one... always the most talented ones get caught up with things that bring them down, then finish with it when its almost too late...

I think sometimes if you aren't prepared when you get alot of cash in your hands you end up using drugs...... Unstable people tend to do that when they get rich quick.... Haven't you noticed a trend in musicians and actors when they go through some rough sh*t in life....

i don't think this is true at all-if drugs "made" music ,there would be no such thing as talent needed, and every drug addict would be bigger than John Lennon.

I guess it might help to break down some barriers-but if there's no talent ,there's no good music. :o

oh-and i also think that good music comes from pain-which might be caused by drugaddiction, but also a million other reasons! :?

drugs ruined that music. drugs killed goettel, drugs killed layne staley, and in the long run drugs killed david reilly. i dont really see how drugs helped any of those people.
