well err ok, yes pain is a wonderful thing AFTER THE FACT cuz it either opens ones eyes to a something they never saw, made them change their lives, produce good music or whatever, because of that pain...buuuuuuuuuuuuuuttttt, pain is not a fun thing to experience, unlike david, alice in chains failed because of drugs, didnt over comethem.. at least layne anyway , and drugs took away a lot of time from very talented people and probabvly helped to hinder the lives of their loved ones too.

Glu Head I think you got that message wrong.... I think that was meant in another way..... Kind of like if you are a straight edge and hate drug users then you should go back and check out your favorite musicians and your actors because chances are that they were using drugs at that time..... Its basically to the extremeists....
