Great news!! GLU on the radio once again (in another way)
OK, I'm going to keep this as brief as possible, but I'm pretty thrilled right now.
Anyways, back in High School and past High School I was in a band called "Waste of Time" (yes, named after the GLU song). Our singer's name was Corey. The band broke up close to a decade ago. Corey went on to be in numerous other bands such as "Shock Cinema" and currently a Poison tribute band called "Toxin" (he's really into glam/hair music). I have been in contact with him but rather infrequently since our band broke up. I haven't really been in a band since, until mid-last year. Anyway, thats beside the point.
So, I put up the myspace page for our band http://www.myspace.com/straightjacketcivilians and put our cover of "Fool" up. Corey contacted me, loved the song, and wants to play our version of "Fool" on the radio (he is a DJ w/ pretty much the biggest rock radio station in the Cleveland/Akron area WMMS as a "Weekend Warrior" DJ) on "The Local Show" (he goes by "Corey Rotic").
I know its nothing huge, but it will be the first time I have a song on the radio, and it will be a GLU song!
I'm waiting for details from him when they will play it, and when the local show is on (its also available on their site as streaming radio). I also asked him if they are only going to play it once or all the time on the show or what. I will let you guys know more details if you want, when I know them, but he did say he would get it on there ASAP.
YAY!
