will do chicky, I'm teeming with curiosity. curiousity? I think curiosity is correct.

thank you everyone who is enthused about reading this thing as I am to writing it... its been a pretty emotional 3 months since his passing and it took this long to start healing where I can start to write (I only had to stop twice and cry the first night I started writing). Dave was one of my best friends, we knew each other for OVER 10 years *sigh* and the bastard was supposed to be at my wedding this year (yes, I have earned the right to call him that in a very loving way since I called that to his face when he was alive, affectionately of course).

I know that he meant a lot of different things to a lot of different people who either admired him for his music, or was proud to be a "friend". I have a lot of stories, some that made us laugh together and some that made us cry together.

I promise what you are going to get is the most honest novel I can write, some of it will be hard for people to read, some of it will make you love him more... either way, its how I saw him through my eyes during all the hours and days we spent together since 1995.

I would definitely read it

How big of a book do you think it will be? Is it going to cover just your interaction w/ him, or more than that? Sorry if this has been answered already, but I may have missed it.

I was having the discussion yesterday with someone about the length. Basically it will be as long as it needs to be to tell the story where it is satisfying enough, that I feel Dave would feel like I did us justice. But I also dont want to ramble on about us laying on my bed watching BET for 4 hours and making fun of the rap videos... I am trying NOT to fall into that trap... My estimation is anywhere in the 150 - 200 pages area, but I cant be sure. I have a story I need to get out of me, and when it has been told, it will be done.

Although I am planning on having this ready to print before Oct so it can be used as a memorial on the anniversary. Ultimately I would like it finished somewhere in the June - August time frame.

this is something im definitely going to read if i have achance too. repeatedly and religiously. i think the poll is unnecessary since i can't imagine why anyone here WOULDN'T want to gain some insight on david's life. I've talked to him maybe a couple dozen times on aim and over email and #### like that but i didn't know him at all, basically i just asked him questions about what music he liked and how he was dealing with his own drug problem and shared with him some of my ####. he was an interesting person, and very caring from what i gathered from the few correspondances i had with him and I'm very interested in learning more about this person whom i've looked up to for so long from somebody who actually got to have the opportunity to be close to him. this book is something i think, now that it's in progress, we're all going to crave for completion.

I'll definitely be reading it. I'm concerned about it being too long, I'd rather it be too long than not long enough. I trust your judgement.

I think you should just follow your heart on what to write.... Don't worry if you fall into that trap.... There always editing to get rid of those things....
