In Memorial

Post by silvercrank »

Hey i know we're all in extreme shock here... perhaps it would be good to kind of have like a little online memorial service, like somewhere to share stories and thoughts...because i know our heads are reeling right now...

- i never met david. but i had "7" during one of the hardest periods of my life, when my dad passed...something about it just comforted me...i was reeling...

- in 1995 i heard glu and it was/is (still) one of my most played albums ever...it helped me with my depresseion when certain family members of mine got sick and when things in my life were just going wrong, it just helped me so much...

with glu/dr, i just connected to the music and, i will always be thankful that he never "sold out" and that he was always to true the creativity that he was capable of, i wish that he got more recognition...who knows, his album could be like what happened with sublime and elliot smith, which woudl add to all the irony already written into his life story...

oh man.

Hi there,

i feel as sad as everybody else about David's death. He was one of the few that could turn whatever s++t was going on in my head into beautitul songs

I regret that i never met him- he still means really a lot to me-more than i had ever thought.

Dave, if you can see me from wherever you are now please know that i will never forget you.

Luv ya

All I can say is I'm a little at a loss, I can't say I expected this, but part of me isn't shocked either. All I know is that dave more than likely had a great quality to his life for the several months he had completely clean, and despite the the lack of quantity, I would like to think that he would be content leaving this world behind happy. And I think he would want us to be happy too. While he was alive he had the opportunity to leave us something beautiful that touched all our lives, and the fact that the same people are still talking about one man over all these years, from the mailing list and to this new board, proves that. I know I cried when it hit me, since i kinda wanted to meet him face to face, but i realize now that if he didn't stop using when he did, I would be left with less to remember him by. I'm just thankful for what he gave us while he was here, and glad that he's moved on too, he's probably up there touching people their like he touched us.

Goodbye David. I 'll miss you.

~Vic
