Up Off The Floor...How Many???
Ok I am a fairly new Glu fan and i just bought UOTF online...although i havent recieved it yet...i heard that there are numerous different versions...and that the mastering on the cd is really bad...that the mp3 downloads sounded better...and then i heard about acoustic demos for the cd...so how many different versions are there floating out there for UOTF??? thanks!!!
ahh...damn...i think i just got the regular version...i did see a couple promo versions floating around on half.com...is there that much of a difference in sound???...should i pick that one up as well?...i know the promo doesnt come with much artwork or lyrics...does the regular version have lyrics printed in the booklet??

Basically here is the deal the pre-release version is better. The regular version was mastered incorrectly. I A/B "Tricke"d and the sound difference for me is tremendous. Basically it sounds to me like a compression issue. I can't believe a mastering studio could screw this up but some hack ass outfit probably did it.
So to sum it up, the prerelease is much better. Much richer sound, David's vocals are much warmer. On the released version the drums do not sit well in the mix.
Since you bought the regular version just get the pre-release from someone. it wasn't for sale anyways

get like the mp3's you mean...or people actually have the promo version and arent selling it...because i really want a copy that i can listen to with artwork and everything...i dont like listening to burned cd's///and i always have trouble listening to them with my boom box...i also found a few on the net...but its like i dont wanna pay like $10 for the same cd i just bought...lol...
Well the promo will be stamped on the front cover.... Thats how mine is.... Also I think there was a slight confusion with the names of the songs and the actual track.... I think the promo has like track 3 confused with track 9 or something like that.... But the actual release is fine.... You will know when you hear the song and read the cd cover that the songs don't match.....
