23 is an awesome cover..... Take Whatever You Got is great too..... Yeah I also am almost finished with my cover of Scared.... Its alot rockish than your covers..... I kind of did it my way but with the same structure..... I still have to record the bass, drums, and vocals.... Hopefully by this weekend.....

Great covers everyone...Redstar, I really like your singing style; kind of a Reilly + Bowie thing going on there.

I have a lot of work to do on No More Love; I need to re-do the vocals and add a lot more texture to the music, put in some dynamics, etc. I hope to be done by this weekend, I just have a lot going on work-wise at the moment.

But hey, I wanted to offer temporary hosting for all your MP3s....the myspace streaming audio thing is so low-quality it's hard to get the full experience. If anyone's interested, email your mp3s to dan.henuber@gmail.com and I'll set up a folder on neskimos.com.

I intend to do "Dress Rehearsal For Reproduction." If I pour my heart and soul into it, I could actually (possibly) have it pretty soon. Count me as definitely having the song in the future.

Thats cool.... I do hope everyone does what they can.... I myself am doing the best I can around my work and band schedule..... I need to get at least 2 songs done.... Scared and Nothing...... But its going to get hard since Starting next week my band has shows line up until late December..... So weekends are pretty much done with..... Weekdays is all I got and thats a bit hard since my work schedule varies....

It wouldn't be a horrible thing to have multiple versions of a said song either.
Everybody will have their own take...

Draven, on the old board I claimed "Don't know how to be" I am still wanting to take that song.

I've just finished tracking and mixing a cover of "From Your Mouth", which can be found here:

MCLII - From Your Mouth - God Lives Underwater Tribute (5:03) (7.3MB)

A little preface:

This song was the first song I heard by God Lives Underwater around 1998, and it really impressed me. When I picked up Life in the So-Called Space Age, I immediately took to it. I really like the way that they mixed everything together... electronics, sampling, natural instruments, found sounds, and sounds from studio banter. I really enjoy hearing that type of thing, and I consider Life in the So-Called Sapce Age to be one of the great records of the 90s. I decided to cover this song since it was my doorway to GLU, and never lost its allure, even after I heard it a thousand times.

I am also cross-posted this to the other tribute thread as well....

Machine your right about that..... Go ahead and record it.... I don't mind having 2 versions but remember we have limited space and the fact that its better if we have more songs or different songs.... Machine did call it way before when the idea started in May or June.... I forgot when it started but go ahead.... I still need the songs emailed so I can setup the song list and see between my associates and I how many songs will be on it.... Obviously the board will have to vote on which songs as well.... I want to keep this more of a whole contribution rather than what one person wants.... Art work cover and styles will also be choosen by us.... As long as if a company doesn't try to take over...... I still don't know how I will produce it but I do have some help from DS..... So lets get this rolling with the submissions.... Thanks....
