damn i went to register.com to find out the WHOIS owner...nothing listed...but the site said that i "could type in a negottiation price", they'd act as a mesenger basically, and my minimum offer had to be fhgking $200 or higher!! so part of me is thinking of godlivesunderwater.orgsiX wrote:i run my own domain and i have an amazing host that is very reasonable. it has a lot of space and more importantly bandwidth which you need when you're hosting big files like mp3s/videos.
if you want to check it out:
http://www.ace-host.net/
if you have any questions about it you can always let me know either her or on AIM (thexstart)
i think its a great idea to buy the domain
cuz everyone seems to ignore that one...and no one wants an godlivesunderwater.info or .biz or anyof those retarded one...haha what about godlivesunderwater.edu ...now thats an edumacation!!! or what about godlivesunderwater.gov? ha. now im going crazy. lol. maybe if idid buy one it would just be amirror site of this one...me and the enjoyglu owner and combine information from both our sites...damn i put so many hours into mine...code is retarded. its irritationg..but it would be nice to have a permanent home for all those files...
hey hows pushead doing with copyright.gov? he taught me alot about copyrights and stuff when i found out he did that one too.. i should copyright some of my artowrk...anyway *tangent!*
so yeah i'l look into the links yoiu guys gave me, and granted if i dont quit the stupid job that i have now which i hate and my bossi s a jerk and i want to throw a pizza in his face--- and so if i dont quit tomorrow then heh, i'll buy it

This may be a somewhat stupid question, but why doesn't somebody backup the information on a dvd or something so even if it's lost... it can easily be restored? I can do this if necessary, and I can even snail mail a copy to the admin. if they can't do it.
or... why don't we set up multiple accounts, one as a public? does it cost money? I really don't know what exactly the gmail is, please forgive me if I sound stupid. Mybe David's manager will ok a soundclick page as an archive?
just some ideas. I'm not really new here, but this is the 3rd time I've had to register. I usually don't post, but I kept up on news here.

I am pulling down all the GLU stuff off the new FTP in case there is a loss of some sort.Red mantis wrote:This may be a somewhat stupid question, but why doesn't somebody backup the information on a dvd or something so even if it's lost... it can easily be restored? I have the phone number of the owner of godlivesunderwater.com. I could try to snag it when it comes due but its been gone for a while which means it will probably renew through an automated sytem. I might give them a call next week and see what they want for it or what is up with it.

Ok, we allready have 2 gmail accounts... all I have to do is make sure there sync'ed up and we can release one as 'public' and one as 'archived'. Just have to make sure they both have 2 different passwords and pick one to be the public one (probably the main one).

What domain name(s) are you trying to buy draven?

Oh yeah, I pretty much have everything on the gmail (except like... the 'mashups' I diden't want... lol) on my external hd, so, there's a another person backing up what we have.
