God Lives Underwater Forum

Hi, everybody.

I'm a fan of David and GLU from the "Space Age" release era, and have been off-and-on lurking about these forums for a couple of years (after the demise of the Mantis Commline email server run by Brian Hees). Anyway, I occasionally play guitar at open mics, and this week, I'm doing a set of God Lives and David solo covers as sort of a one-year-after-his-death retrospective. My plan is to record this performance and, if anyone is interested in hearing it, post in the FTP site that you guys have here.

The closest I ever got to meeting David was chatting briefly with him on AIM way back when the band had just finished recording "Up Off the Floor."

If anyone on these forums is from the Metro Detroit area, the place is going to be the Blue Note Cafe in Pontiac on Tuesday, the 17th. It's an open mic, so the whole thing is free.

Yes. There is, I would love to hear your performance. It would be wonderful if you put it up on the FTP!

The show went pretty well. The overall vibe was a bit like the TT the Bears show (raw, honest, a little mistake-y). I should be able to get the tracks on Saturday, do a little listening and mixing and have it up some time early next week. I'll keep you posted.

I heard he did the first 20 seconds of the show, broke a guitar string and couldn't find a cat whisker anywhere and the only existing recordings of the 20 seconds of the first song were plagued with bad mixing sound problems and then stolen by the government and hidden in a bunker in phnom pehn. They were then used in conjunction with syncopated laser light shows and nude pictures of elizabeth taylor in experiments on primates

hmm well due to the fact that the information could really never be found in this dimension and if it were it would replace this universe with something completely different (and may already have) then I would have to say 42 was used by Adams (who may or may not have been an extra-terrestrial) to start a pop culture phenom that would keep people from finding out that *phi (the golden number, the fibbonacci numbers, 1.61538) are indeed the true meaning to the universe. for the most part this has worked and is a small part of a larger scheme to eventually turn humans into M'Ghiq3rji foodstuffs, but that's a another story altogether!
