A Really Dumb Question (GLU Related)

Is Empty out of print? I know I can get used copies on eBay and such for next to nothing, but I'd like to get a copy for my friend as a gift and if at all possible, I'd like it to be a new copy. Let me know, I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

Yes, it's out of print. You may be able to find a new copy at amazon though, but you might pay a lot more for it.

in fact, look for an american release, not a sony. just for originality sake.

When you say "American", you mean the record label, right? You don't mean like a non-import version? Empty was on Sony too? Or is American an imprint of Sony? Sorry for all the questions...but here's one more...is the Sony version available new?

Oh, and to blass, thanks again...I did find a couple of new copies on amazon, but as you said, they were like $35 and up plus ship. I think I'll hold off for now. Thanks for the info though!

All i know, is that american (the label) released the e.p., and empty, back in 95. then, when soy picked up GLU in (?) 97, 98 (?) , sony re-released the first two under the sony name. I would check pawn shops and garage sales and ####. 2 years ago, i was lucky enough to find a non-sony (meaning american) version in a pawn shop for $3 (!). the non-sony e.p. though, is much harder to find. you pretty much had to buy it when it was released.

Oh, cool, both of mine are on American. I never knew Sony re-released them.

asa- you sure about that Sony ####? I've never seen a GLU CD w/ Sony anywhere on it. LITSCSA was put out on 1500 Records / Riffage....no Sony connection that I know of.

The EP was originally put out on Onion before being rereleased on American.

Empty was American.

LITSCA was 1500 / Riffage

UOTF was Locomotive / Megaforce

And Empty should be really easy to find cheap, either online or in budget/cut-out bins.

Uhh, there are a bunch for under $3: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/ ... 97-8092757

Edit: oh, a new copy might be a pain in the ass to find...but seriously, I buy almost all of my CDs used out of budget bins, and the only time I've had a problem with a CD being scratched was w/ a NEW CD....

why kind sir, you are correct. I don't know why I thought that. i just did some quick looking around and have no idea where that idea came from, the only connection i can find to my previous brain vomit was the fact that both of the first two records had been re-released. My apologies.
