I finally took the liberty of seeing Johnny Mnemonic.


Worst 99 cents ever.


I of course saw it to hear no more love with a back drop of cool Fx and storyline.

BOY was i wrong.

Somebody should of told me it was the last #### song in the movie. The LAST one.


Besides my disappointment there...

The movie sucked. Acting blew.

Interrupt: if i find myself correcting a movie inside my head during the entirety of a movie, the said movie is a complete #### up.

I loved the idea of using your brain to save information. Think about it. A portable flash drive (which are already made portable). A 300 GB Ipod anyone?

I also love the idea of a bridge that is a , no offense, tenant building aka project aka public housing.

The idea of a disease that is caused by technology. No.
A cybernetic dolphin. No.
Ice T acting. Hell no.

Ahhh. there were so many instances that were no necessary. for instance...

In the Very very beginning, Johnny is with that woman. Not necessary. She wasn't needed. Her leaving him wasn't needed. -4 minutes

In the beginning the woman is with her doctor at the "party". That entire scene. -10 minutes

The woman who starts rocket launching the bridge. She didn't have to have her friend killed and go into a violent rage. This could of happened in two seconds if someone gave her a signal. -5 minutes

Stupid jokes. "Dead men do tell jokes Johnny" 2-minutes


When Ice T shows up the first time. He was going to show up latter!!! And when he does he doesn't even make any gesture making it seem as if he met him. NO ONE WOULD KNOW. -5 minutes

Man i almost forgot the ending with the Jesus guy. O lets make the audience think he is still alive. -30 seconds.

Jesus man. They said he didn't have a natural bone in his body. He didn't have an acting bone in his body. Good idea, wrong movie. He kind of looked like sabertooth from X-Men. -12 minutes

The ghost in the machine. -5 minutes

All Chinese people in the movie. They could not act at all. Had they stuck with Chinese i might have believed they were with the Japanese mob. -25 minutes

JOHNNY gets stabbed in the heart!!! And lives!! -2 minutes

Had the movie of been 41 minutes long with an intermission and a cameo by M’night Shamelan, it still would have sucked.

The short story it was based on was so much better.

Who was it by? And did it go by the same name?

I never actually seen that movie.... Isn't Keanu in that????

The short story is by William Gibson, the father of cyberpunk. I don't remember if the title was the same.

I really hated that movie. Alot. I haven't seen it in probably close to a decade though, but I know it was really so bad then that I would never watch it again.

All this negative talk about it wants me to watch it to see how bad it really is.....

Had I known it was that bad, I might of still seen it. I was disappointed, because I expected it to be good. If I was properly informed I would have found the movie funny. I mean a futuristic Jesus look alike who is a killer, a cybernetic dolphin. Ice T. Now that’s comedy. In a sad... sad way.

Ahhhhh cyberpunk... When I hear that word I think of the SNES/PC game Shadowrunner. Classic. Any of you heard of it?

Shadowrunner I think I have I just can't think of the overall look of the game.....

it was actually Called Shadow-run...but yeah, that game was awesome. I always wanted to play the PnP game, but never got a chance to. but yeah...onto the topic, Johnny Mnemonic is horrible. It is hilariously bad, and that is the only thing good about the movie, It makes me wonder if all the actors were really serious, or if they knew they were in the midst of filming a gigantic turd.

Yeah but the funny thing is that all this negative talk about how much it sucks is making me want to see it.....

you know whats funny? i bought that dvd from walmart like a year ago and ive ben meaning to watch it but i misplaced it a bunch of times, now i know just to look for the video part of it

I actually really liked the movie but I think it's the sort of thing where you have to be a fan of Keanu Reeves, which I am I think he has a very distinct acting ability. Some may not like it but I do (plus he's Canadian like me) but everyone is entitled to an opinion, I actually have this movie on dvd and think it's pretty darn good, even if the dolphin thing is kinda corny
